Emergency Service

Our Hospital refers after-hours emergency calls to the Cabarrus Emergency Veterinary Clinic, PLLC. The phone number is 704-932-1182. The emergency clinic is designed only for emergency care after business hours Monday thru Saturday, Sundays and holidays.

Fees aha

Payment of fees is due in full at the time services are rendered. The Hospital accepts cash, checks with proper identification, MasterCard and Visa. We do not accept postdated checks. Returned checks will be charged a $25 return check fee and check privileges will be forfeited. We will be glad to give you an estimate of fees on request. Please remember an estimate of fees is just that-an estimate. As the condition of your pet changes, so will the costs of medical care. The Hospital will make every effort to provide the best care for your pet at a reasonable cost. We will also make every effort possible to keep you informed of your bill. To remain an excellent hospital, we must remain a viable business. We expect pet owners to be both aware of their bills and responsible for them.

Staff

The Hospital employs an excellent staff of well-trained individuals. Our receptionists will answer your phone calls and help you as you come into and leave the Hospital. If you have any questions regarding your bill, this is the person to ask. Technicians assist the doctor and will be able to give you an update should your pet be hospitalized. Assistants help with feeding and care of pets, back up other staff members, and ensure that the Hospital runs smoothly. We hope you are able to meet all staff members of our team. They are a dedicated group of people who enjoy helping you and your pets!

The Hospital also becomes involved in employee training in areas such as job safety and new techniques. Veterinarians are required by North Carolina law to obtain a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education per year. It is this hospital's policy for veterinarians to strive to obtain 50 hours of continuing education per year to keep up with the rapid growth of new information concerning small animal veterinary medicine and surgery.

AAHA Status

logo
The American Animal Hospital Association is a national organization devoted to promoting excellence in small animal veterinary medical care and continuing education. It sets rigid standards for both individual veterinary membership and for hospital membership. Dr. Claudia Gardner is an AAHA member. In 1993 Small Animal Medicine & Surgery was accepted into AAHA hospital membership. Our hospital passed a lengthy on-site inspection and met all requirements in such areas as medical records, bookkeeping, preventative medical care, surgery and radiology, patient care and compassion, hospital cleanliness and maintenance, up-to-date medical equipment, and continuing education of doctors and staff. We will undergo voluntary inspections in the future to maintain our AAHA status. Only 13-14% of hospitals qualify for AAHA membership. We are proud to be an AAHA member, and we will continue to provide the highest quality veterinary care to pets and their families.
